Ever visit five Burger Kings in less than a day? I did for my group’s marketing project. It’s not that fun, but it’s certainly an interesting experience. Unfortunately, there aren’t many BKs in Shanghai, so the ones that are here are pretty scattered. Basically, our day looked like this:
Zhongshan Park -> taxi to Xujiahui -> taxi to Jing’An Temple -> metro line 2 to People’s Square -> metro line 2 to Lujiazui -> taxi to Shanghai Stadium -> metro line 3 back to Zhongshan Park
All in all, it was quite the adventure. I did learn about Xujiahui, this shopping area with a billion malls, at least one of which is full of nothing but electronics vendors! I definitely have to go back and take a closer look, though I’m sure I won’t buy anything significant since electronics here are probably more expensive than in the US.
My day, however, didn’t end with the BK adventure. That night, I had to work on my City & Environment presentation at school. It was the first time I was at the academic center on a weekend and it was kind of creepy at night. I guess the dim lighting and the lack of people does that.
